The Squier by Fender Classic Vibe '60s Jazzmaster (Sonic Blue) electric guitar offers the distinctive design, sound, and sophisticated electronics of the original vintage Jazzmaster. This instrument is perfect for playing surf rock, indie, noise rock, and similar genres of music. The instrument has an «offset» (asymmetrical) body, which is especially comfortable when playing while sitting. Its top is made of poplar, which resonates well and provides a balanced tone.

The guitar's neck is maple, it has a bolt-on mount and an Indian laurel fingerboard. The C-shaped profile of the neck provides comfort when playing chords and solo parts. The fingerboard radius is 9.5 inches, which is optimal for most musicians. The neck has a 21-fret Narrow Tall with dot inlays. The guitar has a 25.5-inch scale, typical of Jazzmasters. This scale contributes to the clarity of sound and good articulation.

The guitar has 2 Alnico Single-Coil pickups, which give a warm and rich mid- and high-frequency sound. The Jazzmaster electronics are known for their uniqueness and complexity. It is a dual circuit (Lead and Rhythm) that is switched by a special slider. In the first mode, control is provided by a 3-way toggle switch, volume knob and tone knob.

Rhythm mode switches the guitar to neck pickup with separate volume and tone controls (pot-wheels) located on the top of the deck. This provides a «darker» and duller tone, which was originally intended for jazz guitarists, but became popular in indie rock. The instrument also has an authentic Non-Locking Floating Vibrato tremolo system, which offers a soft and expressive vibrato.
