The Boss MT-2W guitar effects pedal is a legendary distortion pedal with Japanese quality. The Boss MT-2W is an updated version of the iconic Metal Zone, created as part of the Waza Craft series. It combines the classic sound loved by rock and metal guitarists around the world with improved components and expanded capabilities. The pedal retains the recognizable character of aggressive distortion, but now offers even greater dynamics and transparency of the sound.
The Boss MT-2W is equipped with two modes - Standard and Custom. In Standard mode, you get the classic Metal Zone tone with rich mids and tight lows. Custom mode opens up a modernized, more open sound with better attack, ideal for modern metal and heavy riffs. Thanks to the high level of EQ adjustment, the pedal allows you to fine-tune the sound to any guitar or amplifier.
Boss is known for its impeccable reliability, and the MT-2W is no exception. All elements are made in Japan using premium components, which guarantees stable operation and signal purity. Buffered bypass ensures minimal tone loss even in large pedalboards, and the compact body withstands years of active use on stage or in the studio.
The pedal is powered by both a standard “crown” battery and a 9V adapter, consumes only 35 mA of current and can work up to 18 hours without replacing the battery. Despite its powerful functionality, the device remains compact and lightweight — only 0.44 kg. This makes the Boss MT-2W an ideal choice for musicians who value quality, versatility and authentic Japanese sound.
