The Radial Classic-V9 is a versatile distortion pedal that combines warm analog tone with flexible customization options to deliver a distinctive sound that will suit any style of playing, from blues and country to classic rock.
Unlike the tube version of the Tonebone Classic, the Classic-V9 is built on solid-state circuitry that utilizes a cascaded FET buffer and audiophile op amps to deliver clean, low noise, and instant response to playing dynamics. With two stages of gain and a powerful post-distortion EQ, the pedal allows you to create a wide variety of overdrive variations - from light bluesy crunch to tight, rich drive with bright highs and expressive mids.
The Classic-V9 features a passive EQ with a midrange boost switch (+7dB, +12dB at 500Hz) to help make the sound more distinctive in the mix, and a treble switch to smooth out or emphasize the brightness. The gain switch allows you to increase the signal's saturation level, and the output gain control lets you boost the overall volume up to +48 dB, which is ideal for punchy solos.
To maintain maximum signal purity, the Classic-V9 uses a class-A buffer that eliminates frequency loss, lowers impedance, and ensures stable operation of the pedal even in complex effect chains.
The pedal is powered by a standard 9V adapter (not included), making it easy to integrate into any pedalboard.
