Nord Piano 5 73 is a compact stage piano featuring 73 fully weighted keys, equipped with dual Piano and Sample/Synth sections, as well as double the memory compared to the previous generation. With its unique three-sensor keyboard and Virtual Hammer Action technology, Nord Piano 5 provides an excellent playing feel, resembling that of an acoustic piano.

Advanced String Resonance and Nord Triple Pedal

Utilizing Advanced String Resonance technology, Nord Piano 5 accurately reproduces the intricate interaction of piano strings, adding body resonance when using the damper pedal. The included Nord Triple Pedal features Soft and Sostenuto pedals, along with a unique Dynamic Sustain pedal with noise effect, simulating the mechanical sounds of a grand piano's damper mechanism.

Performance-Oriented Design

Capable of handling demanding tasks, this instrument allows for smooth transitions between programs and assigning split points with crossfades. Nord Piano 5 features dedicated knobs and buttons for full manual control during live performances. Transposing, setting split points, or creating layered sounds can be done instantly.

The independent piano and sample synth sections make Nord Piano 5 a versatile instrument. Each section consists of two independent layers, enabling the creation of diverse combinations ranging from vintage to modern sonic landscapes.

Dual Piano Engines and Extensive Nord Library

The installed Nord sound bank includes 9 grands, 9 upright pianos, 10 enhanced electric pianos, keyboards, digital pianos, marimba, vibraphone, and more from the exclusive Nord Piano Library. Nord's cutting-edge sampling technology captures nuances and the authentic character of source instruments. The Piano Library memory is approximately 2 GB.

Sample Synth Section with Expanded Memory

The Sample Synth section features two new sample synthesis engines with expanded memory for sounds from the Nord Sample Library, including licensed sounds from vintage Mellotrons and Chamberlins, as well as from ProjectSAM Symphobia and Swing! The Sample Synth section allows easy creation of custom instrument samples using the Nord Sample Editor for macOS and Windows. The library memory is approximately 1 GB.

Studio-Level Effects Section

The Piano 5 effects section offers a wide range of studio-level effects assignable to each layer in the Piano and Sample Synth sections. Tremolo, Phaser, Chorus, Pan, Wah, RM, Flanger, Vibe, EQ, Delay, and Reverb are included. Five reverb modes, including Booth, Room, Stage, Hall, and Cathedral, allow fine-tuning of the sound atmosphere. Bright and Dark modes enhance or soften high frequencies, while Chorale adds a lush modulation effect.
