Upgrading from Sonarworks Reference 3/4 Studio Edition to SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones unlocks new possibilities for more accurate and efficient music mixing. The redesigned user interface streamlines your workflow, while new features give you greater control over your sound environment. All previously created profiles remain compatible, so you can pick up right where you left off.

SoundID Reference offers precise calibration for over 500 headphone models, as well as speaker measurement and calibration for stereo systems. It includes three filter modes (Zero Latency, Mixed, Linear Phase), DSP processing features (Mono, Dry/Wet, Safe Headroom), MIDI mapping, and user presets for quick switching between output setups.

The platform also allows you to create custom target curves and use the Translation Check feature to simulate playback across 20+ devices and environments. With zero or near-zero latency support and native Apple Silicon compatibility, the software delivers top-tier performance and flexibility.

Additionally, you can export calibration profiles to compatible DSP hardware — over 10 supported device types, including audio interfaces and speakers.

The package includes the standalone SoundID Reference app for headphones and speakers (ASIO, WASAPI, APO, HAL), DAW plugins (AU, VST2, VST3, AAX), and averaged profiles for supported headphone models. After upgrading, the software can be activated on up to 3 devices using the included code.

Important: To use the upgrade, you need a valid Reference 3 or 4 Studio Edition license, a compatible calibration microphone, a mic stand, and an audio interface with phantom power and supported sample rates. A stable internet connection is required for activation.
