Signal processor BSS Soundweb London BLU-806

The BSS Soundweb London BLU-806DA signal processor is a modular system with four input/output card slots, allowing flexible configuration of audio interfaces based on needs. The processor supports both analog and digital inputs and outputs, including AES/EBU, S/PDIF, as well as specialized cards for Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) and telephone hybrids. Each card provides 4 channels, and analog inputs feature software-configurable gain up to +48 dB and phantom power per channel.

The BLU-806DA features support for Dante and AES67 audio protocols with dual network ports for redundancy, and a separate Ethernet port for control. The device supports integration with Dante Domain Manager through Dante 4.0 firmware.

The BLU Link digital audio bus allows transmission of up to 256 audio channels with low latency and high reliability, using standard CAT5e cable up to 100 meters, and fiber optic media converters to extend distance beyond 40 km.

For user convenience, the BLU-806DA has a clear front panel display and LED indicators showing signal status, phantom power, synchronization, and clipping. Detailed device information such as name, type, firmware version, IP address, and other parameters is accessible from the front panel. A bi-directional “locate” function allows easy identification of the device within the network using HiQnet Audio Architect.

For integration with external systems, there are 12 control inputs and 6 logic outputs (GPIO), as well as Ethernet and RS-232 ports. The Soundweb London Interface Kit documentation aids in connecting and configuring compatibility with third-party control systems.

The BLU-806DA is EN 54-16 certified for life safety applications, making it suitable for environments with stringent reliability requirements. It comes in a standard 19" 1U rackmount form factor and weighs 4.1 kg.
