The TEAC UD-505-X (Silver) is a high-quality digital-to-analog converter and headphone amplifier that combines TEAC's best technology and years of experience. This headphone amplifier is designed for those who value excellent sound quality and detail.
The body of the amplifier is made of metal in a silvery color and combines convenience and reliability. On the front panel, there is an on/off switch, a Clock indicator, a digital/optical input, an input selection wheel, a menu button, a volume control, headphone outputs, and a display. Inputs and outputs are conveniently placed on the back panel. These include line input on RCA connectors and digital and optical inputs. A clock synchronization input is available on the BNC connector. There is also a balanced output on the XLR connectors and an unbalanced output on the RCA connectors. Using the Micro USB connector, it is possible to update the firmware, and the USB Type B port connects to a PC.
The unique "dual mono" concept ensures complete separation of the left and right channels for maximum sound clarity. This avoids interference between the two channels. The use of ESS Technology ES9038 Q2M chips for stereo signal processing ensures the highest level of sound quality. The TEAC UD-505-X supports playback of high-resolution audio signals, including PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD up to 22.5 MHz, allowing you to enjoy detailed music.
The available headphone outputs are on 1/4” TRS connectors (2 outputs) and there is also a balanced headphone output using a 4.4mm Pentaconn connector. The TEAC UD-505-X features Bluetooth support as well as LDAC™ (24bit/96kHz) and Qualcomm® aptX™ HD (24bit/48kHz). This makes it possible to listen to audio via this USB DAC wirelessly from a smartphone.
