The EVID range of ceiling loudspeakers has been designed to work as a complete system in a wide range of different ceiling structures. They provide controlled dispersion, high efficiency, maximum power, easy installation and wide range music or voice reproduction.
The Electro-Voice EVID C8.2HC is an 8" coaxial driver with an innovative waveguide providing 1 kHz directivity control. It provides much better music fidelity and speech intelligibility in rooms with high ceiling heights than can be achieved with conventional concealed loudspeakers. Its 75° beam pattern provides the same coverage area when used in a 6.5 meter high ceiling as a typical 2.5 meter flush ceiling installation. The kit consists of a panel/waveguide, grille, rear cabinet, 8" coaxial 2-way loudspeaker with a titanium coated dome tweeter connected to the waveguide, and an internal line-matching transformer. The C8.2HC uses a transformer that allows you to choose between 7.5W (70V only), 15W, 30W or 60W delivered to the loudspeaker through the 70V or 100V lines or bypassing 8 ohms. The choice is made using a convenient switch on the front panel. The perforated grille is finished in semi-gloss white powder coated enamel. The front panel and bezel are made of ABS plastic with UL 94V-0 rating. Rear cabinet with fiberglass damping material provides optimum internal volume for extended bass reproduction. A back cover with holes for mounting a junction box provides access to a 4-pin terminal block that allows you to directly connect speakers with 12 gauge wire and transmit a signal to additional speakers.
