Description

Jan Lisiecki is a classical pianist of Polish origin, born on March 23, 1995 in Calgary, Canada. He started playing music at the age of five and made his debut with an orchestra at the age of nine. Every year he gives more than a hundred concerts and collaborates with the world's leading orchestras and conductors. Since the age of 15, he has been an artist of Deutsche Grammophon. His first album for Deutsche Grammophon, released in April 2012, was nominated for a 2013 Juno Award in the Classical Album of the Year category.

Chopin: Etudes. Jan Lisiecki performed both cycles of Chopin's virtuoso etudes. This is the second Deutsche Grammophon release of the young Canadian pianist and his first studio album. Chopin's etudes are among the most demanding and emotional pieces in the entire piano repertoire. Jan Lisiecki recorded etudes in the famous Kerner Hall of the Toronto Conservatory of Music. The Royal Conservatoire has been involved in the training of many outstanding musicians, such as the pianist Glen Gould and Oscar Peterson.
