Tame Impala is the musical project founded by Australian musician Kevin Parker. He is the primary writer, performer, and producer of all the project's compositions. On stage, Tame Impala consists of Kevin Parker (vocals, guitar, synthesizer), Dominic Simper (guitar, synthesizer), Jay Watson (synthesizer, vocals, guitar), Cam Avery (bass guitar, vocals, synthesizer), and Julien Barbagallo (drums, vocals). The project has a close collaboration with the Australian rock band Pond, sharing members and collaborators. Tame Impala gained recognition for their innovative albums, including the debut "Innerspeaker" (2010), which received gold certification in Australia, and "Lonerism" (2012), which was nominated for a Grammy.
Innerspeaker is the debut studio album by Australian musical project Tame Impala, released on May 21, 2010. The album was recorded and produced by Kevin Parker at a remote beach shack in Western Australia during the summer of 2009. Innerspeaker received positive reviews from critics for its sound, which recalled and revitalized 1960s psychedelic rock. The album peaked at number 4 on the ARIA Chart and was certified platinum in Australia. In 2010, it won the Australian Album of the Year award at the J Awards, and in 2014, Pitchfork recognized it as the 83rd best album of the decade. In 2021, a 4-LP reissue of the album was released to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
