Aerosmith is a famous American rock band formed in Boston in 1970. The band members include vocalist Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Brad Whitford. Their musical style has deep roots in blues rock, but also incorporates elements of pop rock, heavy metal, glam metal, and rhythm and blues. Aerosmith is known for their numerous multi-platinum albums, starting with their debut album "Aerosmith" (1973) and their second album "Get Your Wings" (1974).
Permanent Vacation is the ninth studio album by the American rock band Aerosmith, released in 1987, which marked a turning point in their career as the band shifted to a pop-metal direction. It was the first album in which the songs were written by outside songwriters, a result of producer John Kalodner's recommendation. Featuring hits such as "Rag Doll", "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)", and "Angel", the album became the band's greatest commercial success of the decade, selling over five million copies in the U.S. It also marked Aerosmith's true comeback to the music scene after several years of absence from the peak of popularity.
