He was born on September 16, 1925, on a cotton plantation in Berclair, near Itta Bena, Mississippi, and later worked at a cotton factory in Indianola, Mississippi. B. B. King taught himself to play guitar and started his career in juke joints and local radio. He was known for his refined playing style, earning him the nickname "King of the Blues." He is considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all time. B. B. King tirelessly performed throughout his career, averaging over 200 concerts a year, even at the age of 70. In 1956 alone, he performed 342 shows.
Live at the Regal is a live album by B.B. King, recorded on November 21, 1964, at the Regal Theatre in Chicago. The album is regarded as one of the best blues recordings of all time and received high praise from critics. It made the Rolling Stone list of the 500 greatest albums of all time and was selected for permanent preservation in the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress in the U.S. B.B. King performed alongside pianist Duke Jethro, bassist Leo Lauchie, trumpeter Kenneth Sands, and others.
