Description

Chet Baker was an American trumpeter and vocalist, known for his contribution to the "cool jazz" style, which earned him the nickname "Prince of Cool". He was born on December 23, 1929, in Oklahoma and became popular in the 1950s thanks to albums like "Chet Baker Sings" and "It Could Happen to You". His career combined great success with struggles due to drugs, which led to several arrests. However, he managed to revive his career in the 1970s and 1980s, continuing his creative work until his death in 1988 in Amsterdam.

The album "Chet Baker And His Quintet With Bobby Jaspar (Chet Baker In Paris Vol. 3)" was recorded in Paris between October 1955 and February 1956 at the Pathé-Magellan studio and became the third and final album for Chet Baker on the Barclay label. The recording featured musicians such as Bobby Jaspar, René Urtreger, Benoit Kerse, and Jean-Louis Viale. The album is an important part of Baker's musical legacy, reflecting his contribution to the development of jazz.

The album contains 10 tracks.

  • How About You? (B. Lane)
  • Once In A While (M. Edwards ∙ Green)
