Depeche Mode – is a legendary British electronic band that emerged on the music scene in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The original lineup included Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher, and Vince Clarke. After Clarke's departure in 1981, the band continued as a trio under Martin Gore's leadership, gaining fame for their innovative approach to synthesizer music, blending synth-pop, electronic, and alternative rock. Depeche Mode has released 15 studio albums and sold over 100 million records worldwide. Their albums “Violator” and “Songs of Faith and Devotion” have become classic examples of electronic music. Following the death of Andy Fletcher in 2022, the band continues as a duo and released the album “Memento Mori” in 2023. Depeche Mode remains one of the most influential groups in the world, known for their profound lyrics and unique sound.

Playing the Angel – is the eleventh studio album by Depeche Mode, released on October 17, 2005. This album features a more organic sound due to the use of analog synthesizers, creating richer and rougher sonic textures. The album includes popular tracks such as "Precious", "A Pain That I’m Used To", and "Suffer Well". It is the first album where Dave Gahan acts as a co-writer of the songs. The themes of the songs touch on faith, sin, pain, and suffering. Playing the Angel received positive reviews from critics and achieved high positions on music charts.
