Druha Rika is one of the most successful rock bands in Ukraine. They have released 12 studio albums, 5 live albums, and 3 collections. Their songs have repeatedly become hits and topped the Ukrainian charts. The band was founded in 1996 in Zhytomyr. The band plays pop-rock with elements of new wave, post-punk, Brit-pop and indie rock. "Druha Rika is known for its energetic concerts and bright sound. They are one of the most popular rock bands in Ukraine and have a large army of fans. Druha Rika's music is often about social and personal issues. The band often writes about love, friendship, loyalty, and the struggle for their ideas. The band's songs have been named Song of the Year three times at the TV festival of the same name. DR also represented Ukraine at international festivals.
Work on the album "Moda" by the band Druha Rika began in the spring of 2007, but before its release, the team faced significant difficulties. Due to the accident in which the vocalist Valery Kharchyshyn got into, the release of the album was postponed to autumn. Despite this, the band did not stop and continued to work while Kharchyshyn recovered from his injuries. Before the release of the album, the single "Kinets Svitu" was released, which became the first track in the band's history to reach the first step of the national radio chart. The album "Moda" differed from the band's previous works not only musically, but also lyrically. The lyrics were revised due to the singer's hospital condition, and some songs received a new meaning, acquired a new life after the events that happened to the group.
