Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known as Eminem, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer, born on October 17, 1972. He is considered one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time, the most successful rapper in history, credited with popularizing hip-hop in Middle America and breaking down racial barriers for the acceptance of white rappers in popular music. Throughout his career, he has sold over 220 million records worldwide, has five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is the first musical act to have ten consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Among his numerous awards are 15 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, an Academy Award for Best Original Song, and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Curtain Call: The Hits is the first greatest hits album by American rapper Eminem, released on December 6, 2005, under Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope Records. The album compiles Eminem's most popular singles, as well as three new songs: "Fack", "When I'm Gone", and "Shake That" featuring Nate Dogg. A live version of "Stan" performed with Elton John at the 43rd Grammy Awards is also included. The album was certified Diamond in the United States on March 8, 2022, and reached number one on the US Billboard 200 and UK Albums Chart. On July 11, 2022, Eminem announced a sequel to the album titled Curtain Call 2, which was released on August 5, 2022.
