Description

Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer, pianist and conductor, one of the greatest representatives of classical music. His work, which spanned the transition from classicism to romanticism, changed the very essence of musical art. Beethoven left a powerful legacy that includes nine symphonies, five piano concertos, 32 sonatas, numerous chamber works and vocal compositions. His music is full of drama, emotional depth, and intellectual intensity, which has allowed it to remain relevant for more than two centuries.

Nicola Benedetti, a Scottish violinist and one of the most renowned classical performers of her generation, is noted for her technical excellence, refined sound and passionate interpretation. A Gramophone Award winner, she is also actively involved in educational activities, including through her own educational foundation. Her playing is a combination of virtuosity and deep musical insight that brings the classical repertoire beyond the academic halls.

Benjamin Grosvenor is a British pianist who has been considered a phenomenon on the classical scene since a young age. His performances are characterized by refinement, emotional expressiveness and a brilliant command of the texture of the work. He performs as a soloist with the world's leading orchestras and regularly records on the prestigious Decca label. Grosvenor is able to convey the depth and drama of the score with extraordinary sincerity and intelligence.

Sheku Kanneh-Mason, a British cellist who gained international fame after winning the BBC Young Musician competition. His playing is characterized by warmth, lyricism and emotional power. Kanneh-Mason is not only a brilliant classical performer, but also an ardent promoter of classical music to a wide audience, often appearing on television and radio and recording a diverse repertoire.

Triple Concerto – this album combines Beethoven's unique composition for violin, cello and piano and orchestra – Concerto in C-dur, Op. 56 - with a selection of his arrangements of folk songs. In the Triple Concerto, the performers create a single ensemble, where each instrument retains its own voice but harmoniously coexists in a musical dialog. The parts of Benedetti, Grosvenor, and Kanneh-Mason are harmonious, deep, and full of nuances, and the orchestral accompaniment complements the overall drama of the work. The second part of the album consists of delicately processed folk songs of the British Isles, where the classical form is successfully combined with the intonations of folk music, creating a refined and at the same time emotionally sincere atmosphere.

The album contains 12 tracks:

Side A: (Triple Concerto For Violin, Cello & Piano In C Op.56)

  • A1.  Allegro
  • A2.  Largo
  • A3. Rondo Alla Polacca
