Massive Attack are trip-hop pioneers from Bristol who have formed their unique style at the intersection of electronica, hip-hop, dub and soul. The band has gained worldwide recognition for their albums Blue Lines, Protection and especially Mezzanine (1998), which is considered the pinnacle of the genre. Their dark, hypnotic compositions combine deep rhythms with melancholic melodies and guest vocals. The band is also known for its consistent political stance and involvement in humanitarian projects. Massive Attack currently consists of Robert “3D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall.

Mad Professor is a cult British producer and sound engineer of Guyanese descent, one of the most famous representatives of the dub genre. His career spans more than 40 years, and he has worked with such legends as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Shade, Depeche Mode, and the Beastie Boys. With his deep bass, psychedelic effects, and mastery of studio techniques, Mad Professor was the perfect partner for Massive Attack's experimental sound in the late 90s.

Massive Attack vs Mad Professor Part II (Mezzanine Remix Tapes '98) is a unique look at the classic Mezzanine album through the prism of Mad Professor's dub remixes. Pressed in a limited edition colored vinyl format, this release takes familiar tracks into deeper, more abstract dimensions of sound. Here, “Teardrop”, “Angel” and “Inertia Creeps” appear in a new light - with extended instrumentals, characteristic dub rhythms and a sense of space. The album creates the feeling that Mezzanine has been reassembled in a parallel universe, where weightlessness, shadowed rhythms, and sound hallucinations reign supreme. These are not just remixes – it's a deep transformation that reveals the dark layers of familiar material.
