Momoyo (stylized as momoyo) is a Flemish indie rock band from Ghent. The formation is largely a continuation of Uncle Wellington that was disbanded because the members wanted to make a reboot. Momoyo was founded in the summer of 2019 as a project by Jonas Bruyneel. He gathered the ex-members of Uncle Wellington around him and started working on the music with them. After first releasing the singles Breath and Colours, the debut EP Momoyo was released in September 2020. Brian Lucey was responsible for the mastering. The production was in the hands of Klaas Tomme and Filip Tanghe. The EP was well received by critics. Marc Alenus of daMusic commented in his review that the songs are quite long: "Typical to the songs on this EP is that time is taken to mature." Filip Van Der Linden of Musiczine.net described the record as "a musical journey of discovery, a balancing act, a collection of stories".
In 2022 Momoyo released the singles Bones, Mouth and Hands. This was followed by the full album Gaps in time on Starman Records, produced by Jonas Bruyneel himself, and the band started a tour through Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
