Queen is a legendary British rock band founded in London in 1971, which went down in music history for its unique blend of hard rock, pop, opera, and arena rock. Their classic lineup - Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon - gave the world many immortal hits, such as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and Another One Bites the Dust. Mercury's unchanging charisma, intelligent lyrics and musical experiments have made Queen an icon for several generations. After Mercury's death in 1991 and John Deacon's retirement, the band continued to perform periodically with guest vocalists, including Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert.

Queen I is the band's debut studio album, released on July 13, 1973, by EMI. It was recorded in 1971-1972, before the band became very popular, and it became a kind of manifesto of Queen's ambitions. The album is characterized by a variety of genres, from hard rock and progressive rock to psychedelia, folk rock, and even proto-punk. Most of the songs were written by Mercury, May and Taylor, but the album also includes “Doing All Right”, which was created as part of the previous band Smile. Despite limited commercial success at the time of its release, the album laid the groundwork for Queen's future career and received favorable reviews from critics who compared the band to Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. The album contains early hits such as “Keep Yourself Alive”, “Liar” and “Seven Seas of Rhye...”, which demonstrate Queen's musical virtuosity and originality of sound at the beginning of their career.
