Roxy Music is a British rock band founded in 1970 by Bryan Ferry and Graham Simpson. The band gained popularity in Europe and Australia by blending elements of glam rock with innovations in electronic music, significantly influencing the development of punk rock and new wave. They are known for their refined musical and visual style, often experimenting with popular imagery and electronic compositions. After several breakups, the band reunited in 2001 and continued to perform sporadically, and in 2019, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Country Life is the fourth studio album by the British art rock band Roxy Music, released on 15 November 1974. The album is considered one of the most sophisticated and consistent in their career. It was their first in the US to break into the top 40, while in the UK it reached number three on the charts. Key tracks include "All I Want Is You" and "The Thrill of It All," and the album blends a variety of musical styles, from rock and roll to German music elements and Renaissance-style songs. The album's cover was controversial and censored in several countries. Country Life received critical acclaim and was included in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
