Stereophonics is a Welsh rock band founded in 1992 in the village of Cwmaman. Their recognizable sound - a blend of alternative rock and classic British rock elements - features frontman Kelly Jones' deep, whiskey-tinged vocals and powerful melodies. Having gained popularity since their debut album Word Gets Around (1997), the band quickly became one of the key figures in the British rock scene of the late 90s and 2000s. Their breakthrough album Performance and Cocktails (1999) cemented their status, and the song “Dakota” became their first #1 single in 2005. Stereophonics are known for their masterful live energy, which has earned them appearances at major UK festivals and millions of fans worldwide.

Just Enough Education to Perform, the band's third studio album, was released on April 11, 2001 and immediately topped the UK charts, selling over 140,000 copies in its first week. The album's title comes from the lyrics of the song “Mr. Writer,” a critical examination of the relationship between musicians and the media. The album maintains a restrained but emotionally intense tone, combining sincere ballads with guitar-driven rock songs. The album includes several hits, including “Mr. Writer,” “Have a Nice Day,” and “Step on My Old Size Nines,” which led to the band's commercial and critical success. The 2002 reissue also included the song “Handbags and Gladrags,” which became a single. This colored vinyl edition is a valuable find for fans of early 2000s British rock.
