Bill Evans – an outstanding American jazz pianist and composer, known for his virtuoso playing in a trio and significant influence on the development of jazz music. His harmonic decisions, block chords, and innovative rhythmic approaches continue to influence jazz pianists today. After the tragic death of LaFaro, Evans formed a new trio and continued to actively record music. His compositions "Waltz for Debby" and "Time Remembered" became jazz classics. Throughout his career, Evans received 31 Grammy nominations and won seven awards.
How My Heart Sings! is a jazz album by pianist Bill Evans, recorded in 1962 simultaneously with his album "Moon Beams". Both albums were later released together as a double album titled "The Second Trio". The album differs from the previous recording with its more lively rhythm. After the ballad-filled "Moon Beams", producer Orrin Keepnews wanted a slightly more up-tempo recording, which led to the creation of "How My Heart Sings!". However, even with a faster tempo, the album retained Evans' characteristic deep lyricism and intimacy.
