The Cardigans is a Swedish band founded in 1992 in the city of Jonkoping, which is characterized by stylistic variability and exquisite writing. From soft indie-pop with a retro aesthetic to deeper alternative rock, each of their albums is a separate sonic experience. The hit Lovefool, which was featured in the movie Romeo + Juliet, brought them worldwide fame, but The Cardigans proved their versatility with Gran Turismo and Long Gone Before Daylight, which showed the band's emotionally mature side with deep lyrics and a more atmospheric sound.
The Rest Of The Best - Vol. 2 is a collector's vinyl record that continues the series of retrospective releases by The Cardigans. This collection brings together rare tracks, demos, studio experiments and alternative mixes that were previously inaccessible to the general public. Listeners will find here both unexpected interpretations of well-known compositions (You're The Storm, Hold Me) and little-known but extremely atmospheric songs, such as Slowdown Town or The Road. The album creates a sense of intimate immersion in the band's creative process, allowing you to appreciate its evolution from a new perspective. Vol. 2 perfectly complements the first part of the collection, completing the musical mosaic of the best, but “unusual” works by The Cardigans.
