The Offspring is an American punk rock band formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, California. Originally known as Manic Subsidal, the band gained popularity in the 1990s alongside Green Day, NOFX, and other California punk bands. Over their 39-year career, they have released 10 studio albums and sold over 40 million records. Their most famous album is "Smash" (1994), which features the hit "Come Out and Play." Although the band's lineup has changed over time, Bryan "Dexter" Holland remains the only consistent member.

Americana is the fifth studio album by American rock band The Offspring, released on November 17, 1998, by Columbia Records. After their worldwide tour supporting the album Ixnay on the Hombre (1997), the band began work on the new album in July 1998. Americana became a major commercial success, debuting at number 6 on the Billboard 200. It sold over 198,000 copies in the first week. The album includes hits like "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)," "Why Don't You Get a Job?" and "The Kids Aren't Alright," and was supported by a world tour and a performance at Woodstock '99.
