The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel McConkie Tesfaye, is one of the most prominent artists in contemporary pop music. Hurry Up Tomorrow, his sixth studio album, released in January 2025, confirms his status as a visionary. This album is a deeply cinematic journey into dystopian sensuality, where elements of futuristic R&B, hypnotic electro, neo-noir ballads and hip-hop are intertwined. The recording was joined by celebrity guests: Anitta, Travis Scott, Lana Del Rey, Playboi Carti and Future. The sound was produced by recognized hitmakers – from Max Martin and Metro Boomin to Oneohtrix Point Never and Pharrell Williams. The album's themes balance between self-destruction, nostalgia, and attempts to escape reality, and tracks like “Give Me Mercy” and “Open Hearts” sound like nighttime revelations in digital chaos. The release of the album is accompanied by a movie, which is scheduled to premiere in May 2025 – another proof that The Weeknd is not just a musician, but a creator of complete universes.
