These new recordings marked the first appearance of Kenny Jones on drums after the death of Keith Moon, making the album even more significant for The Who fans. Besides The Who's tracks, the soundtrack includes music by other artists featured in the film, such as The High Numbers, James Brown, and The Kingsmen. The album was dedicated to Peter Meaden, the first manager of The Who and a key figure in mod culture, who passed away a year before the album's release. "Quadrophenia" remains an important part of The Who's legacy, showcasing their skill in blending music with cinematic imagery.
