The addition to the R-Series is a recorder, mixer and control surface. That's an ambitious task for such a modest device. An intuitive, versatile desktop solution for recording, editing and mixing music, the Zoom R20 portable multi-track recorder combines a DAW-inspired touchscreen interface, color-coded tactile controls and up to 16 shared tracks so solo artists and entire bands can create songs and let their creativity run wild without relying on a computer. The R20 is part recording console, part virtual instrument, and part effects unit. It features eight preamps, channel stripes, drum loops, synth sounds, and digital processing such as compression, EQ, strobing, and more. Multiple microphones, an electric guitar, headphones, speakers and even a MIDI keyboard can be connected to the R20, making it a capable centerpiece of any home studio or mobile production setup. With up to 1TB of memory card capacity, you'll eliminate the need for computers and costly DAWs, so you can get right down to work on all the creative and technical aspects of your project. Next to the memory card slot is a USB-C connector for using the R20 as an audio interface for your computer or iOS device. On Windows and Mac systems, it works as an 8-input/4-output audio interface, while on iOS devices it provides 2 inputs and outputs each. Another USB port allows you to connect an optional Bluetooth adapter for wireless connection to a smartphone and remote control of the recorder using the R20 Control app.
