The M-Audio AIR 192|8 is a high-performance audio interface that provides studio-quality recording with 24-bit/192kHz resolution. The device is based on proprietary Crystal™ preamps, known for their transparent sound and ultra-low noise, as well as premium analog-to-digital converters. This combination guarantees uncompromised signal purity and a wide dynamic range, allowing you to capture the subtlest nuances of a performance without unwanted distortion.

The input architecture of the AIR 192|8 is flexible, allowing simultaneous recording of up to two channels. Users have access to two balanced combo XLR+1/4” TRS inputs with a -10 dB attenuation switch for working with various microphone types. Additionally, two dedicated 1/4” TS instrument inputs with adapted impedance are located on the front panel, ensuring the most accurate representation of electric guitars and bass guitars when plugged directly in.

Connectivity options are expanded with main 1/4” TRS outputs and four RCA outputs, allowing the interface to be integrated into setups with DJ mixers or connected to outboard gear. The headphone output features independent level control and a monitoring source switch (channels 1/2 or 3/4), which is perfect for creating separate mixes for the performer (Cue Mix). The interface also supports MIDI equipment connection (synthesizers, sequencers) via 1/8” connectors using the included adapters.

The device is housed in a rugged metal chassis with a large, ergonomic central volume knob. The high-speed USB connection ensures record-low round-trip latency (2.59 ms), while the USB/Direct knob allows you to balance the mix for zero-latency monitoring. The package includes a comprehensive software suite comprising DAWs (Ableton Live Lite, MPC Beats), virtual instruments, and an effects bundle for a complete music production cycle.
