The EMG 81-7 (Black) is a legendary pickup for seven-string electric guitars. It is built on the foundation of the world-renowned EMG 81 and is equipped with powerful ceramic magnets and special narrow aperture coils, allowing for an incredibly intense, sharp sound with bright highs. The EMG 81-7 is typically installed in the bridge position of seven-string guitars, but when used in pairs, such as in combination with a neck humbucker, this pickup adds a true aggression to the sound. Classic combinations like 81-7 + 85-7 or 81-7 + 60-7 allow musicians to experiment with various tonal palettes, achieving the perfect balance between power and versatility.
Installing the EMG 81-7 requires no soldering, making it significantly easier to replace pickups.
