The EMG 40TW is a versatile 5-string bass pickup that offers two independent tone modes: single and humbucking. The single-coil mode utilizes the JCS design with ceramic magnet and steel magnetic coils for a rich and warm sound. The humbucker mode uses the popular CS (ceramic steel) design for a more aggressive sound with a pronounced midrange.
Switching between the modes is accomplished via the push/pull volume or tone controls, allowing players to easily change their tone from a clean and clear J-type to a powerful and fat CS humbucker. This pickup comes in a standard 102mm body length, which fits 5-string basses.
