Care accessories for musical instruments

To ensure that your guitar always pleases you and your friends with its sound and appearance – it is necessary to observe the necessary care of the instrument, as this prevents corrosion or any other defects in the body, which may affect the sound. Ideally, you should wipe the body of your guitar after each playing. You can use any non-abrasive cleaning guitar polish. Use home remedies for these purposes is not recommended, as they destroy guitar cover. To avoid scratching, the tool must be cleaned with a cloth made of microfiber, inflicting on it a cleaning spray polish. In addition to clearing the body of guitar, you should also wipe the strings after each session on the instrument a special cleanser (liquid). For this purpose should apply a microfiber cloth, that is the same material as the housing. To clean the neck of the guitar, use a small amount of lemon oil. It must be put on the same fabric, which we have already recommended. This should be done from time to time, and when you change strings.

While all musical instruments need regular care and cleaning to function properly, wind instruments require special care because of their fragility. All professional woodwind musicians agree that an instrument should be cleaned at least once a day. Cleaning includes removing any moisture inside the instrument and using a mouthpiece brush dipped in warm soapy water to scrub off dust and residue. Swabs are another essential woodwind cleaning tool. They are a simple solution to keep your wind instruments playing smoothly.​ Wind instrument maintenance and cleaning kits are very easy to find in today's music market. They contain everything you need to make wind instruments look, sound and play great. Wind instrument care kits are offered by all the most famous and respected brands. These kits contain essential accessories such as rags, brushes, swabs, lubricants and polishes for cleaning. "Care & maintenance" manuals are also included to guide musicians through the cleaning process. However it should be noted that if any specific issues can't be resolved with a care and cleaning kit it's always in a player's best interest to bring their instrument to a certified repair technician.

Wipe off your instrument and strings with a soft, clean lint-free cloth every time you finish playing to keep the varnish looking nice and prevent rosin dust buildup under the strings. The dust is very difficult to remove once it hardens. Always wash your hands before playing to avoid exposing the varnish to dirt or grease. It is not advisable to use any polishes for cleaning the instrument (including furniture polish). Areas of high contact with your skin may need extra cleaning. Only use natural cleaning products without any alcohol or solvent. Spray the cleaning solution on a soft cloth, not directly on the instrument! Instrument varnish is very delicate. Test a small area first to be certain the varnish is not damaged. Never use alcohol or solvent-based products. Alcohol, solvent, and hand sanitizer will damage the varnish on your instrument. There are many types of cleaner on the market, and they differ primarily in the type and volume of the polish that they contain. Simply put, those without polish do not have the strength to remove a great deal of dirt, but they are kind to the instrument. In contrast, those with polish remove build-up, but may also harm the instrument. All cleaners are used basically in the same way. Using two cloths specially designed for stringed instruments, put a small amount of polish on one to remove the dirt, and use the other to wipe down the instrument after the dirt is removed. If the same cloth is used for both purposes, the instrument will become dirty again, so be sure to use two cloths. When using a cleaner that contains polish, shake the bottle well before using, and be careful not to wipe hard. However, cleaners that do contain polish will inevitably remove a very small amount of the varnish and so should not be used on old instruments.

A drum set is expensive musical equipment so it must be well taken care of. Taking care of it is about keeping it in tune, changing the skins when necessary, and keeping the set clean. Cleaning it is not simply wiping the dirt off with wet cloth. Remember, a drum set consists of different parts and materials. Each of the small pieces should be squeaky clean to keep the whole instrument in good condition. The most important thing to remember on how to clean a drum set is to use a non-abrasive cleanerDrum shells are the backbone of every drum set and if not cared for will begin to sound less resonant, won’t tune properly, and can also crack or warp. Regularly wipe down your drum shells with microfiber cloths. Paper towels aren’t recommended as they can be too abrasive and may cause scratches. For glossy wrap finishes, consider using a small bit of drum polish once in a while to keep them shining! Generally, cleaning the drums is done by using cleansers that will not fade the colors of the drums or make them flat and dull. Never use abrasive cleansers that will leave a permanent scratch to the finish. Ammonia-based products can fade the color of the drums and make them look old. There are a lot of moving parts with your hardware, so keeping them clean will save you headaches of having to replace parts in the future. Make sure you polish your hardware especially if it’s chrome plated. If left out too long, especially in harsher conditions, it can start to become dull and potentially lead to corrosion. If there’s any moving part, give it a small dose of lubricating oil and wipe off any excess to keep everything moving smoothly and prevent threads from stripping.
