The EMG 85 (Ivory) is one of the first models from the renowned EMG brand, featuring Alnico V magnets. This pickup is distinguished by its exceptional tone and versatility, making it suitable for playing both blues and the most extreme metal. The Alnico magnets provide rich sound and smooth lead tones.
Although this pickup is often installed in the neck position, the EMG 85 also sounds great as a bridge humbucker due to its smoothness and expressiveness. It pairs well with any other humbucker in the EMG lineup, and the solderless installation system makes it easier than ever to install.
