Electro-acoustic guitar Ibanez TCY12E-OPN (Open Pore Natural) is one of the most affordable models in the Talman series. The double-cutaway body provides exceptional playing comfort, especially for those who are used to electric guitars. The guitar's top has an open-pore matte finish. This finish allows the wood to «breathe» more freely, which contributes to better resonance, and also gives the instrument a more natural look.
The top, back and side of the guitar are made of sapele (laminate). This wood provides a warm, balanced tone with an emphasis on midrange frequencies. The guitar's neck is made of okume wood, which is very similar to mahogany in terms of tonal properties. The fingerboard and bridge are made of Purpleheart. This is a hard wood used to provide clarity of high frequencies and increase sustain. The model has 20 frets and a standard scale length of 650 mm for acoustic guitars.
The instrument is equipped with an Ibanez Undersaddle pickup, located under the lower bridge (under the saddle). It perfectly captures the vibration of the strings and body, but can be prone to feedback at high volumes. There is also an Ibanez AEQ-2T preamplifier. This is a compact preamp with a built-in chromatic tuner and two-band equalizer (Bass and Treble). A regular 9V battery is used to power the electronics.
