The Radial AC-Driver is a high-quality preamp and d-box for acoustic instruments designed for live use. With its studio-quality signal processing, Class A buffering circuitry, and sophisticated tone and feedback controls, this pedal is an indispensable tool for musicians seeking the cleanest, most natural sound possible.
The AC-Driver is equipped with a balanced DI output for connecting to a PA system or active monitors, which guarantees transparent, distortion-free signal transmission. An adjustable low-pass filter effectively eliminates problematic frequencies, and a 180° phase shift switch helps minimize feedback in stage environments. For quick instrument changes or silent setup, a Mute footswitch is provided to mute the output signal without any extraneous noise.
The Class A preamplifier delivers an extremely wide dynamic range (+107 dB) and uncompressed, clear sound, which is especially important for acoustic guitars, violins, mandolins, and other instruments with piezo or magnetic pickups. The 10-mohm input impedance ensures proper matching with piezo pickups, and the 4.4 kΩ output impedance allows for lossless signal transmission even over long distances.
The sturdy 14-gauge steel body withstands intense concert use, and its compact size makes the AC-Driver the perfect addition to any pedalboard. The device is powered by a 9V adapter (40 mA, center pin negative), which ensures stable operation without extraneous noise.
