The Electro-Voice ND44 is a reliable, high-performance dynamic instrument microphone with a tight cardioid polar polar pattern. The ND44 capsule is designed to excel with drums and other rhythm section instruments, and is finely tuned to produce the aggressive, on-point sound of those instruments, as well as excellent isolation from the sound of other nearby instruments. The ND44 dynamic capsule contains a large Mylar diaphragm that produces a rich and detailed frequency response through the combination of a large surface area for tonal balance and low-mass, high-velocity material for exceptionally fast transient response. The ND44's low-profile swivel head makes it easy to position the microphone around your drum kit. The included DRC-2 clamp is easy to use and eliminates the need for an additional microphone stand. The ND44 capsule uses a humbucking coil to reduce AC hum and EMI. Dynamic ND microphones can be safely used near speaker cabinets and racks with equipment that generates EMI. The ND44 Memraflex grating is made from a durable, dense mesh that can withstand extremely rough handling. Your microphone stays protected and looks good from gig to gig, year to year. For added protection, the ND44 capsule contains a hydrophobic fabric membrane that prevents moisture and debris from reaching the diaphragm. The ND44 is also designed to be used as a guitar cabinet microphone. It can be stand-mounted using the optional SAND-1 Mic Stand Adapter, or simply suspended above the speaker cabinet with the grille facing the speaker cone using a microphone cable for suspension.
