ART PRO VLA II Compressor

The ART Pro VLA II is a two-channel tube compressor-equalizer based on the Vactrol® optocoupler circuit, which provides the characteristic warm and musical sound of tube compression. It is used for recording, mixing and final mastering, when soft, natural dynamics control is required without losing the harmony of the signal.

On the front panel of the device, large analog VU-indicators immediately attract attention, displaying the average level of the input or output signal, as well as LED-indicators of the gain reduction (Gain Reduction). In addition, there is a main LED meter that shows the peak and average output levels of each channel - this provides precise level matching in the professional chain.

Each channel is equipped with Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Output Level controls, which allow you to fine-tune the nature of the compression - from soft (2:1) to aggressive limiting (20:1). The channels can operate independently or in stereo linking mode, where the first channel becomes the main one, and the output level control of the second is responsible for the balance between them.

The rear panel features balanced XLR and ¼” TRS inputs and outputs, allowing the device to be integrated into any studio circuit. The +4 dBu / –10 dBV switch ensures compatibility with both professional and consumer audio equipment.

The toroidal transformer in the power supply minimizes mechanical and electrical noise, guaranteeing clean sound even at high signal levels.
