Andrea Bocelli is a world-renowned Italian tenor who has gained recognition for his unique blend of classical operatic voice and pop music. After winning the Sanremo Festival in 1994, he quickly conquered the international stage, selling over 90 million records worldwide. Bocelli has become one of the most successful performers in the crossover classical genre, taking opera beyond the confines of philharmonic halls and making it accessible to a wider audience. Amore is Bocelli's eleventh studio album, released in 2006 in time for Valentine's Day. It's a warm, sensual collection of songs and ballads that embraces the romantic heritage of Spanish, Italian and English-language music. The album features the first version of “Bésame Mucho” performed by Bocelli, which later became one of his trademarks. Duets with Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder, Kenny G, Chris Botti, and Veronica Berti, as well as a lyrical cover of Elvis Presley's “Can't Help Falling In Love” add a special charm to the album. The album ends with the anthem of the 2006 Winter Olympics, “Because We Believe”. In the remastered edition on two discs, these compositions sounded with new depth and detail.
