The Black Eyed Peas is an American music group consisting of rappers will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo. At the height of their popularity in the 2000s, they were joined by Fergie, who replaced Kim Hill in 2002. Initially, the group was known as an alternative hip-hop group, but over time their style transformed into a more commercial pop-rap. The band's first big success was the single "Where Is the Love?" from the album "Elephunk" (2003), which topped the charts in 13 countries, including the UK. The group also gained popularity with hits such as "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling". During their career, they received numerous awards, including the prestigious Grammy Awards. After a hiatus in 2011, the Black Eyed Peas returned to the music scene in 2015. Their songs are characterized by a combination of different styles such as hip-hop, dance music and pop.

Bridging the Gap is the second studio album by the American hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas, released on September 26, 2000. This was the last album where the band was credited as the Black Eyed Peas until the release of "Masters of the Sun Vol. 1" in 2018. The album includes three official singles: "BEP Empire/Get Original", "Weekends" and "Request + Line", the latter of which was recorded with Macy Gray. The song "Weekends" was later remixed and renamed "Another Weekend" for the Deluxe Edition of their fifth studio album, The E.N.D. Singer Kim Hill actively participated in the creation of this album, but left the band after its release.
