Description

Chet Baker (Chesney Henry "Chet" Baker Jr.; December 23, 1929 – May 13, 1988) was an American jazz trumpeter and vocalist, known for his contributions to cool jazz, earning him the nickname "Prince of Cool". Baker gained widespread attention and critical acclaim in the 1950s, particularly for his vocal albums, including Chet Baker Sings (1954) and It Could Happen to You (1958). Jazz historian Dave Gelly described Baker's early career as "a combination of James Dean, Sinatra, and Bix".

Baker's Holiday is an album of songs associated with Billie Holiday, performed by trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker, recorded in 1965 and released on the Limelight label. The album features ten tracks, most of which Baker had not previously recorded, showcasing his exquisite trumpet playing and vocal interpretations. Baker is backed by a full saxophone sextet and a four-piece rhythm section including pianist Hank Jones, with colorful arrangements by Jimmy Mundy. Critics praise the album's artistry and successful jazz interpretations of classic compositions.

The album contains 10 tracks.
