David Garrett (David Christian Bongartz) – is a renowned German violinist who impresses the world with his skill and distinctive style. Garrett demonstrated remarkable talent from an early age, starting to play the violin at just four years old. His debut at the Kissinger Sommer festival at the age of nine was the first step on his path to a great career. He studied with prominent musicians such as Itzhak Perlman and graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York. The album Iconic, released in 2022, is a true musical masterpiece that combines classical heritage with modern interpretations. In this release, Garrett collaborates with Orchestra the Prezent and Frank van der Heyden, paying tribute to legendary violinists such as Jascha Heifetz and Yehudi Menuhin. The album features over twenty tracks, including works by Bach, Dvořák, Gluck, Mendelssohn, and Schumann, arranged for violin, guitar, and orchestra. Iconic not only includes well-known melodies such as “Estrellita” by Manuel Ponce and “The Swan” by Camille Saint-Saëns but also offers exciting duets with Andrea Bocelli and Itzhak Perlman.
