Jethro Tull is a British band formed in 1967. Starting with blues rock and jazz, they quickly added elements of English folk music, hard rock and classical music to their sound, creating their own progressive rock style. The leader and vocalist is Ian Anderson, who also plays flute and acoustic guitar. The band has had many musicians over the years and stood out with albums such as 'Aqualung', 'Thick as a Brick' and 'A Passion Play', which became icons of progressive rock.
Stormwatch is the twelfth studio album by Jethro Tull, released in September 1979. This album is often considered the last in a trilogy of folk-rock albums released by the band in the late 1970s, along with Songs from the Wood (1977) and Heavy Horses (1978). This album was also the last with the "classic" line-up of the band. "Stormwatch" was recorded during 1978-1979 and had a significant influence on progressive rock.
