Description

John Coltrane (September 23, 1926 – July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist, bandleader, and composer, considered one of the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Born and raised in North Carolina, he moved to Philadelphia after high school to study music. Early in his career, Coltrane worked in bebop and hard bop styles and became a pioneer in the use of modes and free jazz. Throughout his career, he led numerous recording sessions, collaborated with musicians such as Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, and his music increasingly took on a spiritual dimension, exemplified in the legendary album A Love Supreme (1965). Coltrane's influence on music continued posthumously, earning him numerous awards, including a special Pulitzer Prize.

Standard Coltrane – an album by jazz musician and composer John Coltrane, released in October 1962 by Prestige Records. It was recorded during a single session at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, in 1958. In 1970, the album was reissued as The Master (PR 7825), and the CD version added four additional tracks from the same session, previously released on the albums Stardust and Bahia.

The album contains 4 tracks.

Side A:
  • A1. Don't Take Your Love From Me
  • A2. I'll Get By
Side B:
  • B1. Spring Is Here
  • B2. Invitation
