Max Richter – a German-British composer and pianist. He works in postminimalist and contemporary classical styles. Richter studied at the University of Edinburgh and the Royal Academy of Music in London, as well as with Luciano Berio in Italy. He arranges, performs, and composes music for theater, opera, ballet, and film, collaborating with other musicians and artists. Throughout his career, Richter has released eight solo albums, and his music is widely used in cinema; as of December 2019, he has surpassed one billion streams and one million album sales.
Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi – The Four Seasons is a complete recomposition and reinterpretation of Antonio Vivaldi's violin concertos The Four Seasons. Richter stated that he discarded 75% of Vivaldi's original material, using the remaining parts in phased and looped form, emphasizing postmodern and minimalist influences. The album was released on August 31, 2012, performed by Daniel Hope (violin) with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under André de Ridder. The edition includes 13 original tracks and remixes.
