Sting is a British singer, composer, actor, and activist who became a global star as a member of The Police and has gained immense recognition as a solo artist since 1984. His work covers a wide range of genres, from rock and jazz to classical music and reggae. Throughout his career, Sting has repeatedly demonstrated exceptional musical intuition and openness to collaborate with a wide variety of artists. Ten Summoner's Tales, Sting's fourth studio album, was released in 1993 and became a significant milestone in his career. The title is a wordplay – a reference to the musician's surname (Sumner) and a character from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, the tax collector (Summoner). Compared to the previous gloomy album The Soul Cages, this record sounds lighter and more optimistic, exploring the themes of love, morality and human relationships. The album includes the iconic songs “Fields of Gold” and “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You”, which gained international recognition and entered the US charts. The album was nominated for six Grammy Awards, of which it won three, including Best Male Pop Performance. Thanks to its sophisticated sound, intelligent lyrics, and high quality production, Ten Summoner's Tales has become one of the most recognized albums of Sting's career.
