The Rolling Stones are one of the most influential bands in the history of rock music, having changed the course of pop culture since their founding in 1962. Their raw, bluesy sound, charismatic frontman Mick Jagger, brilliant guitarist Keith Richards, and ability to experiment without losing their essence made the band a symbol of the rebellious spirit of the sixties and seventies. Over the decades, the Rolling Stones have remained relevant, gaining new generations of listeners while remaining true to their blues-rock roots.
Beggars Banquet, the band's seventh studio album, was a turning point after the psychedelic experiments of their previous records. Released in 1968, the album marked a return to the band's rhythm and blues roots, enriched with new elements ranging from Latin American rhythms to South Asian and African instruments. The symbolic opening of the album with the song Sympathy for the Devil immediately sets a dark, provocative tone. The album sounds like a musical mosaic, with each track telling a different story, from the social protest of Street Fighting Man to heartbreaking ballads like No Expectations. Although this is the last album released during Brian Jones' lifetime, the main creative force has already been concentrated in the Jagger-Richards duo. Jimmy Miller's production gave the album a dense, organic sound that later became the trademark of the Rolling Stones in their “golden era”.
