Weight

Pad must be ponderous – during a rehearsal pad must be stable, motionless have no vibrations. It is important. On the one hand it would be possible to choose lighter ped, motivating it by more comfortable transportation. Certainly, it is lighter to carry, however drummers need not only to carry pads but also to train on it… In order to pad does not «jumped» on the surface, it must be moderately weighty.

StarPAD is well-balanced thanks to the right combination of proportions of made from natural wood baseplate with anti-slip cover and thick layer of rubber compound drummergym on the batter side. The optimal balance makes playing on the pad and its transportation very convenient.

Rebound

But if the drummer wants to get pleasure from his classes, and, importantly, achieve results through proper training, he should take care of pad with good stick rebound and roll. Baseplate is also important for the compliance of this parameter. Thanks to a balanced ratio of the baseplate and the batter surface with the 80 mm thickness and Shore hardness in a 55 units, StarPAD provides 4-5 rebounds+roll (in DR modification). This provides the most realistic sensations from classes on the pad.

Shape and size

The round shape resembles a drum; it is more convenient to place round shaped pad on the drum. Also it is easy to transport such a pad in a backpack, bag.

8” size is a “golden mean” – on the pads of the smaller sizes uncomfortably to play, bigger pads are bulky and not so mobile. However, StarSticks plans to expand the assortment of pads of different sizes and shapes, in order to every drummer able to find exactly what he needs.
