DakhaBrakha is a cult Ukrainian ethnic band that performs a mixture of soul, blues, hip-hop, minimalism, downtempo, folk, electronic, experimental and ethnic music. The participants themselves define their genre as ethno-chaos. The unique multi-genre combination of Ukrainian, Belarusian and Crimean Tatar motifs and folk songs with theatrical performance has created DakhaBrakha's signature style. Despite their mostly non-English-language songs, the group is one of the most recognizable Ukrainian artists on the world music scene. They have gained popularity in Europe and the United States thanks to albums such as Light, The Way, and Alambari. These natives of Kyiv's independent theater Dakh are winners of many awards and frequent guests of the most important foreign festivals of contemporary and ethnic music.

Alambari is the sixth studio album by DakhaBrakha, released in 2020. This collection of avant-garde folk is considered one of the best in the band's discography and in Ukrainian music in general. Unlike their previous albums, Alambari does not follow conceptualism, instead focusing on eclecticism. This approach helped the band to find an even more original sound and cemented their status as one of the most important projects in contemporary Ukrainian music. In addition to the usual features of DakhaBrakha, you can find elements of jazz, tango, rock and roll, ironic lyrics, postmodern references, and flirtations with English and German. To a large extent, the band can owe its cult status to the album Alambari, which the Dakhovka band had been working on for about 20 years.
