Destroyer is the fourth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss, released on March 15, 1976, by Casablanca Records in the US. It was the band's first album to be certified platinum by the RIAA and the first to chart in Germany and New Zealand. The album marked a shift away from the raw sound of Kiss’s earlier work, thanks to producer Bob Ezrin, who introduced orchestral arrangements, children’s choirs, and other experimental elements. The song "Beth" became an unexpected hit, while "Shout It Out Loud" remains one of the band’s signature tracks. The cover art, created by fantasy artist Ken Kelly, features the band standing on burning rubble – the original, more violent version was rejected by the label. Destroyer marked a pivotal moment in Kiss's career, solidifying their status in rock history.
