The band experimented with various musical styles, including psychedelia, rock, and experimental rock. Although the band broke up in 1970, their music continues to inspire and captivate people worldwide. They remain a symbol of 1960s pop culture and have had an invaluable impact on the development of music.

The album 1967–1970 (also known as the "Blue Album") is a compilation of songs by The Beatles, covering the years 1967 to 1970. It is a double vinyl album, released in April 1973 alongside the "Red Album" (1962–1966). In the United States, it topped the Billboard chart, while in the United Kingdom it peaked at number two. A CD reissue followed in September 1993, where it reached number four in the UK chart. The compilation was initiated by Apple Records manager Allen Klein during his final months in the role. The release of the "Blue Album" was an official response to the unauthorized "Alpha Omega" compilation, which was sold via television. On 10 November 2023, a deluxe expanded version of the album was released, featuring the new single "Now and Then" – the Beatles' final original song. The cover features photographs taken by Angus McBean in 1963 and 1969, along with images from the "Mad Day Out" photo session in 1968. The album cover was designed by Tom Wilkes.
